Metaverse|Will it become a public infrastructure in the future?

The topic of "metaverse" has been heating up, so EINTOO Sauce is going to talk about metaverse again today. When we play a game, do we enter the metaverse?

This is both true and false.
According to Roblox, the "number one company in the metaverse," a true metaverse product should have eight key elements: identity, friends, immersion, low latency, diversity, accessibility, economic system, and civilization.

Identity: you can have a virtual identity, unrelated to your real identity, which can be a president or a beggar.
Friends: you can have real people or AI friends that you can socialize with, whether you know them in reality or not.
Immersion: you are able to immerse yourself in the metaverse experience and ignore everything else.
Low latency: everything in the metaverse happens synchronously, no asynchronicity or latency, the experience is perfect.
Diversity: the metaverse allows for rich, differentiated content, including gameplay, props, and more.
Anywhere: You can log in to the metaverse anytime, anywhere, with no spatial limitations.
Economic system: Like any complex large-scale game, the metaverse should have its own economic system.
Civilization: People gather together to create a unique virtual civilization, a digital civilization.

Comparing the games, one realizes that even the most advanced computer games nowadays cannot fully meet the requirements of the metaverse.
Identity and socialization, these two aspects of the game can be fulfilled. Players can create the character they want, complete interactions with other players, and form social relationships.
Immersion and low latency, with the current technology, can barely be satisfied, but there is still a big gap from the perfect experience (720º HD image above 16K, 180Hz+ refresh rate, and latency below 5ms).

Diversification, which involves content creation. Just like app development, it depends on the ecology. Once the ecology is mature and market-driven, a large number of content creators will join in, producing content and making elements inside the meta-universe, including gameplay, props, characters, scenes, and so on. For now, it's a long way off.
With the ground, it's a matter of technology. On the one hand, it depends on the digital infrastructure (which we have an advantage in our country), and on the other hand, it depends on the means of access, i.e., the terminal devices. Cheap and good access terminals can facilitate users to access the metaverse anytime and anywhere.
Economic system, nowadays games basically have economic system, but it is very simple. However, our real economic system has been digitized, and it seems that it won't be too difficult to port into the metaverse in the future. Moreover, the current digital currency is getting hotter and hotter, and it is likely to form the base of the financial system of the metaverse.

Civilization, as the game currently stands, has not been able to form a civilization, or at best, a culture.
All in all, the game could be considered the primary form of the metaverse. Technologically, there was still a big gap between the two. In terms of philosophy and ideology, the metaverse was just getting started.
In the future, the Metaverse would likely use games as a starting point and develop into an alternative to the Internet, deeply integrating digital entertainment, social networks, and even socioeconomic and commercial activities.
